Assists teacher and residential staff in planning and implementing instructional and residential programs forindividual student.Supervises student and is responsible for their welfare, safety, and location at all times.Attempts to resolve student crisis and/or contacts supervisor when assistance is needed.Assists in establishing a classroom environment conducive to academic and social learning by helping to maintain order.Guides student in socially appropriate behavior on and off campus.Assists in implementation of treatment team and lesson plans for student, as directed by teacher.When appropriate, will complete the following forms necessary to student program delivery: Behavior Observation Form; Seizure Reports; Student Nursing Reports; Student/Staff Incident Report; Medication Error Reports.Under teacher supervision evaluates student proficiency by informal testing, observation and behavior rating scales.May be required to be certified forvan driving.Reports needed repairs and safety hazards to supervisor, ensures maintenance and propercare of existing supplies and equipment.
