Family Support Specialist
based out of our office in Phoenix, AZ.
Family Support Specialist
works cooperatively with clinical and administrative staff to provide case management and coordination of services to children and their families involved in the child welfare system. Contacts and engages clients referred by the Arizona Department of Child Safety (DCS); assesses the needs of clients who accept services; develops case/service plans; provides case work and needed services; addresses risks of child abuse and/or neglect in client families.

What are some of the key responsibilities for our In-Home
Family Support Specialist ?
Connects with clients that are referred by the Arizona Department of Economic Security (DES)’ Department of Child Services (DCS)
Assesses the needs of clients who accept services
Meets with clients in their homes 1-2 times per week
Addresses risks of child abuse and/or neglect in client families
Develops case/service plans
Provides case work and needed services
Participates in a comprehensive assessment of family
Participates in case file preparation as needed for each client referred, ensuring all relevant documents are updated and included.
Keeps DCS and agency workers updated on progress and concerns related to the case.
Participates in CFT’s, TDM’s, and other meetings as necessary
Ability to work as part of a diverse group.

Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or related Human Services field required OR Five (5) years of experience in human services field in lieu of degree.
Must have problem-solving abilities and Excellent verbal and written communication skills needed
Experience in cultural diversity, substance abuse, domestic violence, crisis intervention, effects of child abuse and neglect on child development, sexual abuse, mediation, and other interventions preferred
Must have evening and weekend availability
Must have reliable transportation
Must be 21 years of age or older (per licensing standards)
