Devereux's Day School in Malvern, PA is currently seeking a Full-Time School Nurse. A School Nurse will demonstrate an understanding of psychiatric nursing principles and applies such in working with a child/adolescent population. Assess client condition, identifies and diagnoses problems, provides appropriate treatment of medical conditions, communicates medical information to physicians as well as treatment team members, and maintains related documentation.
Additional Responsibilities include the following, but not limited to:
Communicates with teachers and parents regarding patient needs, the nursing assessments, and recommendations as needed.
Collaborates with other nurses and health team members to ensure the patient's well being.
Performs direct patient care, utilizing established procedures, policies, and standards including: medication administration, observing and documenting patient's response to pertinent medications, provides personal patient care designed to meet the patient’s physiological and psychological needs.
Maintains documentation related to ESI, QPRT assessments, nursing shift progress notes, and related nursing procedures.
Communicates with members of the educational team information related to the client's medical care and behavior.
Provides crisis prevention and intervention services to the program by responding to crises as they occur and assists educational personnel in preventing crises where possible. Utilizes Safe and Positive Approaches (SPA) intervention techniques appropriate to the degree of threat to the safety of the client and others in accordance with Devereux SPA standards.

Bachelor of Science in Nursing or a Graduate of an approved school of Nursing. Licensed as a Registered Nurse in state with School Nurse Certification.**

Regularly works inside areas that are adequately lighted and ventilated. Some fluctuations in temperature. Use of Protective equipment such as latex gloves, facial mask protective eye wear, and gown.
