We are currently seeking to fill the position of

Vocational Job Coach

The Vocational Job Coach will:

Instructs and supervises program participants in the development of pre-vocational, work adjustment, and/or vocational skills; provides development training to the individual so that each individual may attain their optimal level of performance. He/she functions as an integral member of the multi-disciplinary team and works cooperatively with other accrediting agencies/schools and families.

  • Assess clients current vocational skills using formal and informal measures

  • Consults with treatment team members regarding assessment results

  • Provides consistent positive, specific and timely feedback, helping clients obtain goals

  • Creates contingency plans in case of unforseen circumstances

While performing the duties of this position, an employee regularly works with clients with unpredictable behavior; works inside in areas that are adequately ventilated and lighted, frequently works outside while supervising clients in outdoor activities and may have exposure to changing temperature, humidity and weather conditions; may have occasional travel, as needed, off-site and escorting clients to appointments. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, except during certain milieu activities when noise levels may be loud.

Requirements

The IDEAL candidate will ...

  • Be 21 years of age or older.

  • Have a minimum of a High School Diploma/GED (Associates or Bachelors preferred).

  • Have 3 years of experience in a residential treatment setting and/or vocational setting.

  • Be empathetic and have a team approach to care for the consumers.

  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Be energetic and creative

  • Be able to attend five days of in-house orientation on weekdays.

  • Be able to lift up to 20+ pounds and perform Safe and Positive Approaches.

  • Have a high level of comfort with hands on hygiene care.

  • Immunizations required.
