Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health Registered Nurse in League City, Texas

Devereux League City is looking for a Full Time RN for the 3:00 pm

  • 11:00 pm shift.

The Full Time Registered Nurse is responsible for the overall supervision of the patient care unit and for the management of the therapeutic milieu; assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating the delivery of patient care appropriate to the ages and populations served, specifically children and adolescents; maintains operational aspects of the patient care unit and works collaboratively with the other members of the multidisciplinary treatment team.

Responsibilities include :

  • Assess patients; collects and documents the patients current health status and medical history.

  • Completes and/or reviews Admission Data Record, makes accurate and ongoing assessment of patients status and respond appropriately.

  • Documents patient care to include nursing intervention, patient response to care provided, patient needs, problems, capabilities, limitations, and progress toward goals.

  • Communicates with physicians regarding patient needs, the nursing assessments, and recommendations on a daily basis.

  • Collaborates with other nurses and health team members to ensure the patients well being.

  • Performs direct patient care, utilizing established procedures, policies, and standards including: medication administration, observing and documenting patients response to pertinent medications, provides personal patient care designed to meet the patients physiological and psychological needs.

  • Performs indirect patient care, utilizing established procedures, policies, and standards including: communicating pertinent information to the appropriate person in a timely manner, giving a thorough, concise report at change of shift, accurately transcribing physician orders, ensuring that supplies and equipment necessary for patient care are stored in an organized and efficient manner, and demonstrating correct and safe technique in the use of equipment according to specific product information.

  • Accepts, follows through and documents in client chart verbal telephone orders from physician.

  • Maintains documentation related to ESI, QPRT assessments, nursing shift progress notes, lab slips, and related nursing procedures.

  • Participates in and assists with the initial treatment plan and the treatment planning process.

  • Communicates with members of the treatment team information related to the client's medical care and behavior.

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing for Registered Nurses; BSN preferred. Current licensure in the State of Texas as an RN.**

Experience : Previous Professional experience in a behavioral health care setting preferred.**

Must have a valid Texas Driver's License. Must be able to attend attend one-week of mandatory classroom classroom training.

Immunizations required.

Physical Requirements:

Significant amounts of walking, sitting, and standing. Some lifting and/or managing resistance required related to applying physical intervention techniques upwards of 75-100 lbs. or more. Some repetitive wrist/hand movements, normal hearing and vision. Occasional use of computers and office equipment. Occasional driving of Devereux vehicles for business purposes. Ability to meet 100% mastery of Safe and Positive Approaches.**

Work Environment:

Regularly works inside areas that are adequately lighted and ventilated. Some fluctuations in temperature. Use of Protective equipment such as latex gloves, facial mask protective eye wear, and gown. Possible exposure to blood-borne pathogens. Some degree of physical involvement in exercise of Safe and Positive Approaches.**
