Responsible for the safety and security of all clients in assigned residential units. Provides therapeutic interventions as necessary.

This shift consists of 5 8 hour shifts, 3-11pm and 7am-3pm on weekends. As a Floater you will have the opportunity to work in all units across campus, getting to know the entire client population. You willl have a set schedule, but could be on any unit according to the daily needs of the Center. Flexibility and a sense of adventure as well as commitment are beneficial to the successful candidate.

Engagement with clients *Staff areconstantlyinteracting with the kids. They talk with them andparticipatein activities with them. Interactions are warm and respectful, using a calm tone of voice and pleasant expression. Requests are made in a respectful manner. Frequent positive interactions with clients occur, regardless of whether the client*s behavior has been positive or negative. There is an absence of sarcasm, blaming, and yelling. There is no standing around watching the clients or staff chatting among them.

Skill Coaching* Staff is observed teaching appropriate replacement behaviors and prompting the performance of previously learned behaviors. Staff validates the client*s experience, identifies the alternative skill, describes the steps of the skill, and then provides feedback and positive consequences.

Positive Practices-Staff are relentless in praising clients* positive behavior. Staff is observed catching clients *being good* and providing reinforcement for pro-social behavior. Staff is convincing in their overall delivery. They display an enthusiastic and hopeful attitude. Staff are supportive and elicit , as well as offer, constructive criticism and feedback.

Safety* Familiar with fire drills, follows safety procedures, aware of unit search policies, drug screening procedures and body searches, dresses appropriately for safety, provides safe environment, supervises clients, follows program rules and routines, reports and documents all incidents.
